Bella Dorey - Nutritional Therapist

Hi, I'm Bella and I am passionate about transforming lives through evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle advice. I opened my practise in 2019, and have since helped many clients achieve their health goals, including those with long-term digestive health issues, skin health, difficulty losing weight, reducing pain, and supporting hormonal balance.

I have a holistic, compassionate and personalised approach when it comes to nutrition. I do not believe in 'diets' but believe in teaching my clients to develop a healthy relationship with food, whilst maintaining balance, with foods that nourish both the body and the mind.

I strive to explore the 'whole person' looking at not only what you're eating but also fundamental factors such as sleep, stress, lifestyle, family history and more. I am committed to uncovering the root cause of troubling symptoms and am absolutely passionate about bringing the joy back to food and teaching you how to use food as medicine.

Having struggled with many of my own health concerns in the past, I fully understand how a balanced, but straightforward, plan is key in sustaining long-term lifestyle changes. My past experiences have given me the tools to address the root causes of disease, as well as giving me a deep understanding of the psychological impact that disease can carry.

What Is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the use of foods, diets, supplements, functional testing and dietary assessment to help people minimise troubling symptoms and reach their health goals. These health goals can range from weight management, to disease symptom support, hormonal balancing, digestive support, eating for a healthy pregnancy and much more.

The primary focus of Nutritional Therapy is ‘Food as Medicine’ where we use evidence-based interventions of diet and dietary habits to optimise health and wellness.

Poor nutrition can lead to a huge array of problems, ranging from lack of energy, digestive issues, depression and anxiety as well as many of today’s most prevalent chronic diseases such diabetes. Having nutritional knowledge and making informed choices about the foods you eat can help you achieve optimum health over your lifetime.

Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complimentary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing. Nutritional Therapy can help you get to the bottom of your health concerns by finding the root cause of your illness or issues rather than just treating the symptoms, and allowing the problem to arise again further down the line.
